The Lake Rayburn VFD is a volunteer fire, rescue, and emergency medical responder service protecting lives and property in northeast Jasper County, Texas. They respond to emergency calls for electrical fires, grass fires, structure fires, vehicle fires, wood fires, controlled burns, EMS/first responder, landing zones, motor vehicle accidents, mutual aid, storm-related incidents and traffic control.
The Lake Rayburn VFD protects 84 square miles in Rayburn Country, Forest Hills, Browndell, Brookeland, Mulberry Beach, Glendale, Lakeview Forest, Tiger Creek and Scrapin’ Valley. It was incorporated October 26th, 1984 by Harold Cox, Sam Job, and Lester Flynn.
The VFD includes 29 volunteers that donate their time and skills to help our community. They hold monthly meetings at the station to discuss updates, events and issues that need resolution.
