The Angelina River Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1984 with 2 fire trucks and 15 firefighters. Over the years the department has grown to 9 apparatus and 25 firefighters that donate their time and skills to help our community. They hold weekly meetings at the station to discuss updates, events and issues that need resolution, as well as training.

The Angelina River Volunteer Fire Department’s mission is to be a leading emergency service organization by:

• Meeting the needs of our community in fire prevention, fire suppression and rescue;
• Utilizing and improving the dedication and skills of our people; and
• Constantly improving all of our services and operations through continuous training

In carrying out this mission, The Angelina River Volunteer Fire Department will:

• Give top priority to firefighter safety and environmental concerns;
• Encourage the professional and personal development of our members;
• Work as a team to take full advantage of our skills, knowledge and creativity; and
• Communicate openly and honestly to our members and community to inspire trust and confidence.
